Term 1 at Ascham wrapped up in spectacular fashion, with five sold-out performances of our Senior School musical, Mamma Mia!
Taking the stage by storm, our talented actors, singers and dancers created pure joy with this production, as the songs of ABBA filled the Packer Theatre, with the orchestra pit of Ascham musicians providing the indomitable soundtrack. Students from Cranbrook and Sydney Grammar joined Ascham students on stage and behind the scenes.
The shows were electric: not only the the performances and music, but the choreography, set, costumes, lighting and ensemble work from more than 80 students on stage came together to create an electric production that captivated every audience.
Congratulations to director Mrs Lynda O’Brien (Head of Drama), musical director Mrs Catherine Wilson (Head of Music), choreographer Mr Daniel Dolling and all the production crew. Special thanks to Ascham Foundation for generously supporting this production, and to the Year 12 volunteers and the Ascham Parents’ Association who organised parent helpers for Front of House.
Mamma Mia! will be a Senior School musical we will always remember at Ascham. What a night! What a production!
