Twenty-two Ascham students from Years 3 to 6 entered artworks into the Woollahra Municipal Council ‘Caring for our Environment’ Kids Truck Art Competition. We are very excited to announce that three are prize winners and one group has been named runners-up!
This an initiative to urge young artists to make works that support environmental awareness with a particular focus on consumption and waste disposal. This year’s theme, Caring for our Environment, encouraged students to produce thought-provoking designs focusing on reducing plastic, protecting our oceans, bushland and animals, recycling, composting and sustainable living.
Congratulations to Molly (Year 3), Honor (Year 4) and Olivia (Year 5) who all secured the grand prize of having their artwork selected to be printed on the side of a Woollahra Council waste disposal vehicle – a most unconventional moving gallery! They also received a $50 book voucher each.
Isabelle, Sophia, Isabelle and Kerina (Year 5) were also successful in the competition. Their team entry achieved a runners-up prize and each student will receive a $10 book voucher for their incredible collaborative artwork.
We congratulate all 22 girls who produced thoughtful and striking works, designed to inspire environmental awareness within our community. Fantastic work, everyone!
