Leadership in Action!

At Ascham, there are many opportunities for leadership across the School. We consider leadership as being evident in everything we do as individuals and as a community—our students are encouraged to be leaders in their everyday actions, as well as in official roles.

Last week our Year 6 leaders participated in a Peer Support and Leadership program in preparation for the various roles the girls will be taking on this year. As Year 6 students, the girls work as part of Prefect Committees that oversee Curriculum, Charity, Community and Wellbeing portfolios in our Junior School . The girls also lead Pod groups, as well as facilitate the Student Representative Council meetings.

Year 6 students worked with enthusiasm throughout the various workshops that explored ideas of inclusion, belonging, respect and engagement. We look forward to observing the girls’ growth as leaders throughout the year.
