We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Ascham Leadership Scholarship. If you are passionate about study and/or research in humanitarian aid projects or other endeavours within or outside Australia, please apply. This Scholarship is for those aged 20–30 and aligns with your professional degree and development. The $10K grant can be put towards travel, living expenses, conferences and more.
Recipient Gabrielle Stricker-Phelps (2017) was awarded the Scholarship in 2024 for her continued work in the field of child protection and policy reform. It was our honour to have Gabi as our guest speaker at this year’s Ascham International Women’s Day Breakfast, to talk to our students about the importance of speaking up, challenging inequality and curating positive social media spaces.
Gabi shared with the students about her deeply personal story and ways in which this inspires her to make positive change for others. Her natural ability to engage with the audience had them dancing on their feet, eagerly asking questions and seeking advice. We are grateful for the generosity of spirit you shared with us all on this important day dedicated to “March Forward for ALL Women and Girls.”
We took this opportunity of having Gabi back on campus to ask her about the opportunities the Scholarship has awarded her. See Gabi’s interview here.
