From the very first day the Prep girls arrived at Ascham for Term 1 2023, there has been a buzz of excitement in the classroom and playground. And for the very first time at Ascham, Prep students are wearing their very own bespoke uniform. Embraced by parents and girls alike, our ‘Preppies’ loved their new uniforms and from day one were ready for fun!
Our Prep teachers, Ms Keller and Mrs Ward, were happy to see how quickly the girls settled into their daily routine, showing great enthusiasm for all the different activities provided for them. The girls have been introduced to their first unit of ‘My Teddy and Me’ during English lessons, enjoyed listening to lots of stories about teddies, introduced their teddies and engaged in craft activities about teddies too! In Mathematics, the girls have been counting and recognising numbers to 10 and made some very colourful jellyfish to hang on our walls. During inside inquiry time, the girls have spent the term developing their fine motor skills with playdough, painting and puzzles. Outdoor play has been a favourite of the students, busy with cooking and having sandpit tea parties, riding bikes and climbing the play equipment.
Our Prep girls have also been getting to know their specialist teachers for PE, Music, Art and STEAM, plus reading and borrowing books from their beautiful library.
The Prep staff are so proud of how the girls have adjusted to their new environment; it’s been a truly settled transition for them. What a great start to their Ascham journey!
