Let’s Get Muddy at Year 6 Camp!

What an incredible first week of the school year was experienced by Year 6 students. The girls spent the first two days establishing routines, getting to know their new teacher and settling into their new classes, before heading on a three-day excursion to the Great Aussie Bush Camp.

Year 6 Camp is an important milestone in every Ascham Junior School student’s school life. Our students get to know each other in a different context and through adventure-based activities like canoeing, bush craft and rope courses, the girls will strengthen their relationships. They also develop their leadership skills as they prepare for leadership roles they will engage in during the year.

The weather at camp was perfectly warm for the many activities that required consistent collaboration and team work. From canoeing on Lake Ivan, tackling high ropes courses in the treetops, raft building, mud runs and scaling spectacular sand dunes, fun was had by one and all. There was an abundance of adventure. The girls approached all activities with a generosity of spirit and great support of others.

What a fantastic start to the year. Well done, Year 6!
