Do you remember your first school camp?

Going on your first school camp can be both super exciting and a little daunting for young people. So when our Year 3 girls set off to Stanwell Tops this month on their first ever school camp, there were butterflies all round.

It’s been a wet March this year, but Year 3 were lucky that the rain stopped for most of their outdoor activities. The girls were fascinated by ponding, which involved exploring a shallow pond for living creatures. They also showed great courage and ambition (two of our Ascham School values) when scaling the vertical wall during rock climbing. Survivor activities were fun and included swinging on ropes, balancing on logs and various team challenges.

A favourite part of camp for many students was movie night! The girls delighted in joining together to watch the movie Sing before going to their cabins for a restful sleep after a huge day.

Well done to our Year 3 girls—they really demonstrated great strength of character while at camp. By all reports they had a fantastic first camping experience!
