Tournament of Minds

Tournament of Minds (TOM) is an excellent opportunity for students with a drive to engage in creative thinking and team work. Ascham Junior School girls participate in TOM every year.

A problem-solving competition for teams of seven students, TOM requires students to work collaboratively and creatively to solve demanding, open-ended challenges.

This term a team of Year 6 girls represented the School in the TOM competition. They spent all term preparing a solution to their long-term challenge, meeting at lunchtimes multiple times a week. They worked collaboratively to develop a creative idea, write a script, make props and then film and edit their challenge solution.

Chloe Clark, Kaja Damodaran, Hannah Lyons, Ruby Rubinstein, Juliet Stevenson, Zara Uppal and Ava Wyer worked hard and were very dedicated to TOM this year. Thanks to the outstanding creativity, collaboration and conscientious efforts of the girls, they were awarded a Merit for their solution, given to only the top 10% of teams in the competition.
