Planting trees, sustaining our country

Every year for over a decade, Ascham girls in Year 11 have travelled to a different regional NSW property owned by an Ascham family to plant trees. We call this our Ascham Forest. This annual project has one central aim: over time the forests that we plant, cumulatively, will offset the carbon emissions of our school.

The first Ascham Forest was established by students and staff at the property of an Ascham family in Spring Ridge in 2008. Since then over 7,500 trees have been planted at various Ascham family properties around the State and the project is now in its 12th year, with 400 trees being planted on the Masons’ property near Bathurst at the end of August this year.
