Safer Internet Day

Recently, all Years 3 to 6 Ascham girls participated in activities to mark Safer Internet Day, a worldwide event that raises awareness about internet safety and empowers individuals and communities with tools for more positive online experiences.

Taking place on Tuesday 5 February 2019, Safer Internet Day has gained global momentum, with more than 130 countries set to celebrate in 2019.

In the spirit of the 2019 theme ‘Together for a better internet’, the girls and teachers collaborated and supported each other in developing the critical skills required for navigating the online world. These skills take time to develop but they can help us in all areas of life—online and off. They are referred to as the 4Rs—Respect, Responsibility, Reasoning and Resilience.

Together the grades unpacked the 4Rs before creating pledges that reflected their commitment to working together for a better internet!
