Erthlings head for the stratosphere

It’s not every day that one of our girls is listed alongside Lady Gaga on The New York Times Playlist! Lissa Evans (Year 10), is the drummer for Sydney girl band Erthlings, who have been garnering a lot of attention lately.

Their debut single Bridges has seriously taken off, being streamed over 750,000 times on Spotify to date. The New York Times music writers have not only noticed the smooth sounds of Bridges but added it to their hit list alongside Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Shallow from A Star is Born. Describing the song as ‘minimal and sophisticated… hypnotic cool’, the paper has given a special boost to these four 16 year old Sydney students.

After performing at Brisbane’s BIGSOUND Festival recently, the band has this week been the Triple J Unearthed Featured Artists – gaining the support of the national broadcaster and exposing them to much wider audiences across the country.

Head to Erthlings’ YouTube channel to check out Bridges.

The stars are shining bright for Lissa and Erthlings.
