Pauline McLeod Reconciliation Week Primary School Art Competition

Year 2 Ascham students, Ines Sechos, Hope Nickson and Aliyah Vueti had Indigenous-inspired artwork selected to be entered into the 2018 Pauline McLeod Reconciliation Week Primary School Art Competition.

And the results were wonderful!

The competition awards night was held in Ashfield on Thursday 24 May. Ines received equal First Place for her Rock Painting and Aliyah  received a Highly Commended award for her Rainbow Serpent artwork. Hope will be presented with a participation certificate at an upcoming Hillingdon assembly.

All three girls are to be congratulated for their efforts this Reconciliation Week. It was lovely to see their family members who also attended this special evening.

The Eastern Region Local Government Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Forum (ERLGATSIF), sponsor the Pauline McLeod Reconciliation Week Art Competition each year. They are in partnership with six councils including City of Sydney, Waverley Council, Woollahra Municipal Council, Randwick City Council, City of Botany Bay and Leichhardt Council.
