Annabel wins grand final of NSW UN Voice Competition

On 21 October Year 10 students Anna Coles and Annabel Howard participated in the grand final of the NSW UN Voice Competition, after progressing though the NSW heats and NSW semifinals. This public speaking competition is for students in Years 7–10 and invites them to solve issues that affect their communities, the nation and the world, such as homelessness and climate change. The competition is very challenging, requiring participants to think ‘outside the square’.

We were thrilled that Annabel Howard won the NSW grand final. She now progresses to the UN National competition, to be held in Brisbane in April 2018. Both of our Ascham girls competed admirably and articulated their ideas with confidence. We commend both Annabel and Anna on their outstanding achievement and making it so far in this gruelling competition.
