Ascham girls win the da Vinci Decathlon

On Thursday 25 May, two teams of Year 5 and 6 students represented Ascham in the da Vinci Decathlon at Knox Grammar School, with wonderful results.

This decathlon is an academic competition designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of school students. Students competed in teams of eight across 10 disciplines: Engineering, Mathematics, Code Breaking, Art and Poetry, Science, English, Ideation, Creative Producers, Cartography and General Knowledge.
Our girls performed extremely well!

The Year 5 team earned first place in Ideation and second place in English. The Year 6 team (pictured) gained first place in both Science and English. Scoring highly across the disciplines, the Year 6 team was awarded the winning team for NSW.

The da Vinci Decathlon is a rigorous and exciting competition—full of challenges and requiring much collaboration as the girls nutted out innovative responses to each topic. We are very proud of our Ascham girls and their performance in the da Vinci Decathlon this year.
