Year 2 Charity Day for sick Fijian children

Class 2-7 held a Charity Day for sick Fijian children in hospital.

Each Hillingdon student very kindly donated two pre-loved paperback books that will be taken to Fiji by one of our Year 2 students and her family in the Term 1 holidays.

This family takes part in a program called Orthopaedic Outreach in which a team of doctors, nurses and physiotherapists travel to Fiji to look after children with broken bones. Some children have to stay in hospital for long periods, so the books are really appreciated.

Our student will report back to us after the Term 1 holidays so that Hillingdon students can see how their paperback books are being used.

Hillingdon students were also asked to earn $3 by helping with jobs at home. Some girls may have emptied the dishwasher, set the table, folded the washing or helped with the gardening. The money earnt by students will go towards the charities that Hillingdon supports.

Class 2-7 would like to thank all Hillingdon students, families and staff for their support of their Charity Day. Pictured are Prep girls with many of the books they have brought from home to donate to this wonderful cause.
