Voting for the 2010 SRC
05/11/2009

With the help of the NSW Electoral Commission who provided the voting booths and ballot boxes, the school grounds were transformed on Tuesday at lunchtime into a giant polling station. Girls had previously nominated themselves for the position of their form representative on the SRC and ballot papers were prepared by the Chairman of the SRC.

Members of the 2009 SRC manned the polling stations and marked off each name on a list before handing out ballot papers. There was much excitement as the girls queued up to vote, having been already told that voting was compulsory as it is in Australian elections. The ballot boxes have now been sealed and await collection by the NSW Electoral Commission who will be responsible for adding up the votes according to the system of preferential voting. We should be able to announce the results next week.
