Ascham has around 1,000 students from Prep to Year 12. Although the school has recommended entry years with tailored introductory programs, it is flexible in its acceptance of new students at other times if space is available. Although non-selective, Ascham has a strong academic emphasis and offers a classic curriculum.
All girls entering the school are asked to visit for an assessment. Families are invited to attend an Introductory Morning to see and learn about Ascham. Before a place is offered, all new girls and parents have an interview with the headmistress and a further chance to see the school.
Boarding has been an integral part of Ascham life since the school’s earliest years and the school places great importance on continuing its boarding tradition. Most boarders come from country New South Wales.
