The Ascham boarding staff has a wealth of experience, skills and expertise in caring for their students. In charge of each house is a Boarding Co-ordinator who reports to the Director of Boarding.  The boarding staff team places great emphasis on the girls’ care, comfort and safety. 

Boarding staff meet weekly to discuss the boarders’ program and any suggestions or concerns.  They have close contact with the teaching staff and the year co-ordinators to follow up any academic or personal needs.  In addition, a close association with the school nurses, school counsellors, sports staff and the heads of both Fiona and the Senior School ensures that there are extremely thorough, caring and supportive networks available to all boarders.

Medical care
Ascham has three nurses and an onsite Health Centre and hospital which provide 24-hour medical care. If a girl needs to see a doctor, the school has a longstanding relationship with a nearby medical practice, which can be contacted 24 hours a day.  Nursing staff will arrange to take boarders to specialist appointments.

Security
Ascham has a 24-hour on-site security office and each boarding house has appropriate security systems.  The Housemistresses have accommodation in each house and are on duty after school and overnight during their shift.
